About Us
What is After Careers?
The AfterCareers Career Transition Project was initially developed in 2007 by the Economic Development Department of the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce in consultation with the Tinker Air Force Base Family Support Center and the Workforce Oklahoma Veterans Service Center. The project was developed in an effort to serve the career transition needs of retiring and separating civilian and military personnel, their spouses and other qualifying dependents affiliated with Tinker AFB in Central Oklahoma.
The project is expanding to include outreach to transitioning personnel from all military and government organizations in the state of Oklahoma and to all installations affiliated with the US Air Force Materiel Command.
We encourage new and “soon-to-be” college and technical school graduates to participate in AfterCareers.
Our national recruiting capabilities reach out to workers displaced by large scale lay-offs, corporate bankruptcy, etc. across the US.
What can After Careers do for me?
Our Career Fairs provide face-to-face communication between employers and job seekers.
The AfterCareers web site serves as a 24/7/365 virtual connecting point between featured employers and job seekers.
Collaboration with organizations such as the Central Oklahoma Workforce Investment Board provides employers and job seekers with additional, in-depth workforce recruiting and career transition resources.
Collaboration with on-base organizations such as the Tinker AFB Family Support Center and the Workforce Oklahoma Veterans Center helps establish a personal connection with transitioning personnel.
Local and national print and electronic media campaigns provide job seekers with the information necessary to connect with our career transition services.
Our national workforce recruiting strategy allows us to identify and reach out to significant groups of displaced workers across the US.
AfterCareers is a work in progress. Your comments and suggestions are welcomed. Please use the contact page to make suggestions for improvements.
